Family Conference 1st June 2019

The conference plans to be the church’s response to the community. We are all aware of the recent and increased activities around knife and gun crime in London; we have had two such incidents in recent months on the doorstep of Dulwich Grove. This conference intends to examine a rounded view of how the church may involve itself more in the community to respond to current needs and how this may be executed in the context of the family.

It is our intention to have a variety of speakers so issues may be explored from different perspectives.   Our aim would be to have a firm action plan to implement subsequently. In the afternoon, we will have a keynote speaker from the USA the Reverend Brenda Brown who is the Senior Pastor of Massachusetts Avenue Baptist Church, Cambridge (MA). She has been involved in city policy making and has had to respond to several shootings which have involved members of her church.

The conference will convene from 10am – 4pm with a 9.30am registration.  Refreshments will be served throughout the day and lunch will be provided.Dulwich Grove URC conference flyer

Dulwich Grove desires to work in partnership with other churches and wishes representatives to be on the planning team because we believe we will be much stronger working together.
